I know you are tired of hearing this, but time is running out on science projects. They are due between March 6 – 8. With the amount of class time devoted to these there is absolutely NO REASON why a student should not have one completed. I will be doing another update on them Tuesday. If concerns arise, I will be calling you. Brooks Schofield has been very generous helping students generate fabulous covers for their written reports to accompany their projects. Once projects are in, they will be displayed in the hallway for about two weeks. I hope you will have an opportunity to come by and view them.

Congratulations to Elise Ehresman and Alissa Morris for their wonderful work and representation at the spelling bee. Both girls deserve a big hand and a thank you for representing us so well. :)

As a project for READ WEEK the PTA is asking each classroom to select a country and make a wall display. The display may include food, games, holidays etc from that country. Our classs voted to have Germany be our country. Should you have items or suggestions that we could use, please let us know. Our class president and officers are in charge of this project. Breanna Schofield and Jazmine Harvey have taken the initiative to head this for our class and I am greatly appreciative and salute their leadership.

Some midterms still need to be returned. Thank you.

Please keep communication open between home and school, but also keep it open between parent and student. They have a great deal to share.

I have a favor to ask. I am in need of someone to do some copying of materials this next week to aid in our preparation of ISAT. If you are available some morning or afternoon please let me know. I will have everything ready . Thank you in advance.

Also thank you for the delicious treats on Valentine’s Day. I think the students had a very nice time. A special thank you to Darla Milks for organizing and for her contributions. Also thank you to the parents that came by to share in the celebration. It is always pleasant to have you with us. Join us anytime.

Please remember that midterms will be sent home today. Use this as an update on how your child is doing. Daily papers should be an indication and the grades should not come as a surprise. Please return the midterm signed asap.

Tomorrow is our Valentine Party. Students were issued a classlist and cards will be distributed tomorrow afternoon. We will have treats and a time for students to socialize.

Wednesday is a half day of school for the students due to in-services for teachers. Keep in mind that lunch will not be served on this day. We are also scheduled for a character education assembly as well. Remind your child that he should have with him at all times an independent reading book. There will be time set aside on this morning for independent reading. Should your child wish to bring a small nutritious snack , he may do so.

Friday is a no classes day for students due to an institute for teachers. Monday is Presidents’ Day. Enjoy the four day weekend.

Please be watching carefully the number of days remaining until projects are due in science. Ample class time has been allowed and some students have done their entire project at school. There are NO EXCUSES for projects not to be submitted on time. ( March 6-8 )

We have with us each Monday, from Quincy University, a clinical student. Her name is Mrs. Reed. It is always nice to have another set of hands and eyes.

Always remember that you are welcome in the classroom anytime. Your presence is always welcome both to me and your child. It is requested that you follow policy and that you check in through the West office after coming through security prior to arriving at the classroom. This is just standard policy.

Thank you for your continued support in the education of your child.
